The stage is my home. I love the lights, the mic… it’s just the connection!

Start-Up Day at The British Library

Start-Up Day is a partnership between the British Library’s Business & IP Centre and Santander. I hosted and facilitated their fourth event in October 2019 to a packed audience of 250 people in the Knowledge Centre which was streamed live. It was a packed day full of amazing speakers from Jack Duckett - Mintel, Arjun Paliwal - Facebook, Julie Deane OBE - Cambridge Satchel Company to Alison Cork - Make it your Business, Ken Davey - Smarter Group of Companies and Stephanie McGovern, keynote speaker.

The British Library is leading a revolution by inspiring a thriving community of new and existing business owners. It’s free to join and open to everyone. And it’s transforming the way ideas grow into successful businesses. Whether you’re just starting out, need advice on protecting your intellectual property or are ready to take the next step, come along to our action-packed day of free business support with everything you need to turn your idea into a reality.

PRECIOUS Nights

I am the host of PRECIOUS Nights at The British Library. An event that takes place on the first Thursday of Every month. Now in its fourth year, it is a panel event of past Precious Award Winners, designed to inspire and encourage Women of Colour to continue in their pursuits. It is a night of transparent and authentic sharing, where we find out, their trials and tribulations, their success in more detail and advice. A special edition took place at The House of Commons in 2019.

Every month is different, but the one thing that always remains the same is the strong sense of community and support. Past panellists include Kelechi Okafor, Candice Braithwaite, Dorothy Koomson, Jessica Huie, Ronnie Savage and many many more. Due to Covid-19, this monthly event will be hosted via zoom. Follow PRECIOUS to keep up to date.

Make it stand out.

On Thursday, 25th April 2013 I hosted and facilitated the first ever I’mPOSSIBLE Conversation youth edition, which took place at the House of Commons in partnership with Diane Abbott MPs ‘Black Women Mean Business’ (BWMB) initiative on the 21st anniversary of ‘Take Our Daughters And Sons To Work® day. I’mPOSSIBLE brought 100 young ladies from a selection of London schools and youth projects to the House of Commons to hear the inspirational stories from the panel to help them define success on their own terms.
