About Me
Lisa Bent, BA, HONS, HPD, MBACP, Assoc.CIPD.
I’m a qualified Counsellor, HR professional, Presenter and Author of Symona’s Still Single, a romance novel for self-help lovers.
Although I wear different hats, people and communication are at the centre of what I do. My purpose is to invite people into further self-exploration through different mediums, and help them uncover the things that are holding them back from being their whole, best selves.
I refer to myself as a change agent, as I work within both the counselling and coaching capacity.
Therapy is a space that can be accessed at any time, in periods of lows, highs and the in-between.
As a qualified counsellor, I have several years experience working within the charitable and voluntary sector. As a member of BACP, I work in-line with the ethical framework in providing a safe, confidential, empathetic and non-judgemental space for you to have the courage to discover, process, heal and let go of the things that are stopping you from being all that you are.
Although Humanistically trained, I often work integratively, drawing upon the Psychodynamic and Cognitive models to meet client needs. Experienced in working with various emotional difficulties such as; Depression, suicidal thoughts, bereavement, sexual abuse, low self-esteem, relationship issues, identity, self-harm, play therapy with children, anxiety and work related issues.
Working within organisations as a HR professional, I have always taken a holistic approach to people management because certain conditions need to be created and capabilities to be understood for people to thrive. Within this role, my style is more coaching-led.
